Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026 · Applies to Amble Today for iOS
Amble Today is a walking journal. It has no accounts, no servers of ours, and no advertising. Everything you write stays with you.
The short version. We do not collect your information on any server of ours, and we never see, sell, or share it. We never see your walks, your notes, your photo, your health data, your location, or your name. There is no sign-up, no password, and no way for us to identify you. Everything you create — including any spot you choose to mark — stays in your own iPhone and private iCloud.
1. Who we are
Amble Today (“the app”, “we”) is an independently developed iOS application. This policy explains how the app handles information. You can reach us anytime at ambletoday@126.com.
2. What the app stores, and where
Everything you create in Amble Today is stored in two places, both of which belong to you:
- On your iPhone. Your walks, moods, notes, nature tags, walking plans, display name, and profile photo are saved in the app’s own storage on your device.
- In your private iCloud. If iCloud Drive is enabled on your device, a copy is synced to the private database of your own iCloud account, using Apple’s CloudKit. This space is controlled by Apple and tied to your Apple Account. The developer of Amble Today has no access to it and cannot read it.
- Location, only if you choose (optional). When you tap “Mark this spot” on a walk, Amble Today stores that walk’s coordinates and any place name you give it. Nothing is recorded unless you tap that button. The location is held in the same on-device and private-iCloud storage as the rest of your journal, and it is never shown on any public map or sent to anyone.
There is no Amble Today server. Your content is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
3. Health data
With your explicit permission, Amble Today reads two values from Apple Health: step count and walking + running distance. These are used only to pre-fill the walk you are logging, so you don’t have to type numbers in by hand.
- Health data is read on your device and is never sent off it.
- Health data is never used for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than showing it to you inside the app.
- Health data is never shared with, or sold to, anyone.
- You can grant or revoke this permission at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Amble Today. Amble Today works fine without it — you can simply type your steps in yourself.
4. Photos
If you choose a profile picture, Amble Today accesses only the single image you pick. It is resized and stored with your other app data. If you save a walk poster, Amble Today writes that one image to your photo library. The app never browses, scans, or uploads your photo library.
5. Notifications
Walk reminders are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. No push server is involved and no notification content leaves your iPhone. You can turn reminders off inside the app or in iOS Settings.
6. Purchases
Amble Today Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never receive your name, email address, payment card, or billing address. The app only asks Apple a single yes-or-no question: whether this Apple Account currently has an active entitlement.
7. What we do not do
- No analytics or usage tracking of any kind.
- No advertising and no ad identifiers.
- No third-party SDKs, trackers, or social logins.
- No cross-app or cross-site tracking. Nothing is linked to your identity.
- No data brokers. Nothing is ever sold.
8. Your control over your data
- Edit or delete anything — remove an individual walk or plan at any time inside the app.
- Export everything — Me › Your data › Export a backup produces a single plain-text file containing all of your records, which you can keep wherever you like.
- Delete everything — deleting the app removes its on-device data. To also remove the iCloud copy, go to Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage › Amble Today and delete the data there.
Because we hold no copy of your data, deletion on your side is complete deletion. There is nothing for us to erase on request.
9. Children
Amble Today is not directed at children under 13. We do not operate any server that collects personal information, and we never see, sell, or share what you create. The only data the app keeps is the journal you write yourself — including any spot you opt to mark — stored on your own device and private iCloud.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
11. Contact
